Dearest friends, do you know that the Headquarter of the Roman Catholic Church in the whole world, that is, the St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome has a well-defined dress code for both male and female who would like to visit this Holy City for whatsoever reason?
Recently, I have encountered some persons who had given the impression that it is ‘Come the way you like’ which is obtainable there (i.e, anybody is free to wear any type of dress there).
However, my research recently not only revealed otherwise but I equally discovered that persons who dress IMMODESTLY are either asked to go and purchase a cover up or are gently walked out from the Holy Place. A clear example is one celebrity called: Juju Vieira, who was walked out of the Holy Place recently because of her IMMODEST/SEXY/SEDUCTIVE attire. To some persons, the Catholic Church is not being accommodating but to others, the Church is simply being a LIGHT to our morally darkened world.
Again, remember that Jesus warned us about looking at women LUSTFULLY (Cf. Matt 5:28), so, the best the Church could do is to help her members run away from such temptation by preventing those who wish to attract LUSTFUL looks to themselves from entering such Holy Place.
We encourage priests not to be turning blind eyes to IMMODEST FASHION in their parishes and places of apostolate. They should be charitable enough to remind the faithful the need to always appear modest and honourable before God. That is both a sign of reverence to God and respect to their bodies which are the Temples of the Holy Spirit (Cf. 1 Cor 6:19-20). Indeed, keeping a blind eye to immodest/indecent/sexy fashion does more harm than good to our society in general and to our places of worship in particular. Parents and teachers should always remind their children and students the value of modesty in fashion and the dangers of IMMODESTY. Let us decry this ugly trend before it gets out of hand🙏🏼
