Catholic Diocese of Ilorin has set Thursday 27 March and Friday 28 March, 2025 for the burial rites of the late Most Rev. Ayo-Maria Atoyebi, OP, Bishop Emeritus of Ilorin Diocese, who transited to glory on 8 March, 2025.
According to the funeral arrangements made public by the Diocese, the body of the late bishop will arrive in Ilorin on Thursday, 27 March, 2025, at 3:00 pm and will be received by priests and religious at Eyenkorin.

- Vigil Masses will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cathedral at 5:00 pm, 9:00 pm, 12:00 midnight, 3:00 am, and 6:00 am.
- On Friday, 28 March, 2025, a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cathedral at 10:00 am, followed by interment at the Crypt, St. Joseph Cathedral.
Bishop Atoyebi was born on December 3, 1944, in Okerimi-oro, Kwara State, Nigeria. He was ordained a Dominican priest on 17 December, 1978, and served as the bishop of Ilorin Diocese for 33 years.
The Catholic Bishop of Ilorin, Most Rev. Anselm Pendo Lawani, has invited the faithful to join in celebrating the life and legacy of Bishop Atoyebi.
