A very respected Canon lawyer of international repute, in the domain of Canon law, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Edwin Omorogbe has been elected as the new President of Canon lawyers in Nigeria under the association of Canon Lawyers.

Fr. Omorogbe who is currently the Dean of Benin City Deanery in the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin City, was elected along side other officers for the Canon Law Society of Nigeria following an electoral exercise that took place at Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on the 16th of November.
Meanwhile, other elected officials to pilot the affairs of Canon Law Society include, Rev. Fr. Hillary Ezenwa, Vice President, Rev. Fr. Charles Essien, Secretary and Rev. Fr. Daniel Gyang, Assistant Secretary.
Others are; Sr. Ijechukwu Ihemba, DMMM, Financial Secretary, Sr. Maria Cheluchi Emenike, DDL, Treasurer, as well as Rev. Fr. Stephen Akpan who is still serving one tenure in office in the area of Research and Publication.
