Alfred Adewale Martins, the Archbishop of Lagos, over the passing of Pope Francis. Meanwhile, the Anglican Communion has congratulated the Archbishop on the election of Pope Leo XIV.
In his condolence message, Dangote praised the late Pontiff’s transformative leadership, highlighting his commitment to bridging divides and promoting interfaith dialogue. He noted that Pope Francis’ legacy would continue to inspire faith, love, humility, and hope in the Catholic Church and beyond.
“The Pontiff was one of the most transformative Popes of the modern era, who consistently sought to bridge the divide between the time-tested ways of the Church and innovations for the present,” Dangote said.
