โ€˜DESTROYER OF THE EASTER JOY

Rev. Fr. David Okolie

Dearest friends, the EASTER JOY is indeed deep and unfathomable (cf. 1 Pt 1:8). This JOY flows from within and is not determined by material possession or merriment. It is not something that anybody would ever want to live without. This explains why the Church undertakes 40 days long penitential preparations in order to ensure that none of her children is denied of this EASTER JOY. However, deep as this Easter Joy is, SINย destroys it.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Because, the devil understands the above more than a good number of Christians, he, either makes sure that they do not enter the Easter in Virtuous life or throws them into Grave SINS shortly after few days of Easter, thereby robbing them of this Great EASTER JOY. Just imagine losing immediately what you laboured for 40 DAYS to get.

Now, faced with this DESTROYER of the Easter Joy โ€” SIN, what is the way out? The only way out is REPENTANCE and Sacramental CONFESSION. Remember that the Priests are always available to help you regain this EASTER JOY whenever you lose it out of human weakness. Do not keep staying away from it. Remember also the affirmation of the Catechism thus:

โ€œ… either man governs his passions and finds PEACE, or he lets himself be dominated by them and becomes UNHAPPY” (cf. CCC, 2339).

Please, let the EASTER JOY continue.

Once again, happy Easter to you!

Remain blessed๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ
