It was a pleasant surprise to the entire management and staff of Media Service Centre Kaduna to receive the National Director of Communications of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Michael Nsikak Umoh. On his entourage were Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Patrick Alumuku, National President SIGNIS and Director CTV, Abuja and Mr. Patrick Osu the National President of CAMPAN.
The visit was a familiarisation one to look at the facilities at the Media Centre and the kind of programmes they offer in communication and media studies. After going round the facilities guided by the Deputy Director, Rev. Fr. Anthony Bruno Shawuya, Fr. Umoh was elated that such facilities are at the centre and they have great potential for propelling the centre to greater heights. He pledged the support of the National Office to make great contribution in terms of upgrading equipment and providing content for broadcasting on major Catholic Television channels like Lumen Christi and CTV Abuja.
Fr. Alumuku on his part who came to see the Archbishop of Kaduna on the Radio Maria project in the Archdiocese and CTV operations, expressed joy for the return of CTV to Kaduna Archdiocese. He pointed out areas where the MEDIA CENTRE can partner with CTV in providing content for broadcasting on the Catholic Channel.
The entourage paid a visit to the Director of MEDIA SERVICE CENTRE Very Rev. Fr. Anthony Zakka who has been having health challenges. After some pleasantries, a prayer was led by Fr. Alumuku.
Fr. Umoh who marks his 29th Priestly Ordination Anniversary on 13th December, was visibly elated to visit MSC, Kaduna. Mr. Patrick Osu also shared memories of his participation in making the centre enjoy a vibrant patronage in those years. Fr. Anthony Shawuya thanked the National Director of Communications and his entourage for the surprise visit and assured him of the full support of the MSC to the National Office.
The Media Service Centre offers Courses in CISCO Programming, Development Communication, Cyber Security, ICT Skills and with a state of the art Recording Studio, the Centre produces digital audio and video contents. It has a Bookshop and an accomodation facility open to the general public. The Papal Ground is also leased out for events within the Kaduna metropolis.
Provincial Focus wishes Fr. Umoh a blessed Anniversary of Priestly Ordination and pray for more anointing to carry on the tasks ahead of him with diligence and wisdom.
