The 53rd International Eucharistic Congress, currently underway in Quito, Ecuador, is utilizing its official logo, anthem, and Book of the Gospels to symbolize the transformative power of fraternity and love in healing a divided world.
The official logo, designed by Publio Escobar, represents the theme of “brotherhood to heal the world.” The anthem, “Around Your Table,” composed by Marco Antonio Espín and performed by the musical religious group Solideo, emphasizes unity and love. Escobar, Espín, and the Solideo are Catholic artists dedicated to evangelizing through innovative and unpublished contemporary music.
The official Book of the Gospels, blessed and signed by Pope Francis, features the Sacred Heart of Jesus, symbolizing Ecuador, surrounded by elements representing the country’s rich cultural diversity. The design incorporates a cross, an open heart, a host, and 0º (zero latitude), signifying Quito as the middle of the world. Designed by Santiago Guartambel, the Book of the Gospels embarked on a tour around Ecuador in September 2024.
The Congress’s theme, “Eucharist, Source of Dialogue, Solidarity, and Evangelization,” aims to foster dialogue and promote greater service, solidarity, and evangelization in a world facing numerous challenges. With its powerful symbols and themes, it promises to be a transformative event, inspiring greater fraternity, love, and healing in a world in need.
The event brought together thousands of participants from around the world to celebrate and deepen their understanding of the Holy Eucharist.
