…as two churches benefit motorbikes

As part of its mobility intervention, the Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPC), of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja has presented an indigent girl, Elizabeth Falaye with a wheelchair to aid her to move from one place to another.
The presentation, which took place at the JDPC Office, Garki-Abuja was done by the Programmes Officer, Mr Timothy Ejeh, on behalf of the Director, Rev. Fr Solomon Uko, last Tuesday.
The beneficiary, Miss Elizabeth, who has been deformed from birth; she could neither talk nor move her body around. The Eighteen years girl was full of joy and happiness as it was evident in her smile.
Her mother, Mrs Victoria Falaye, a widow and a committed member of Sacred Heart of Jesus, Immaculate Heart of Mary, active member of the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO), and St Michael Yoruba community of St Williams Pastoral Area Bwari.
Speaking on behalf of the child, Mrs Falaye described the gift as great relief not just too her child but her also as a mother, who have shouldered the responsibility of moving her everywhere alone.
She thanked the commission for obeying God’s voice to help them, even as she believed that it was God that laid it into the hearts of men and women of the commission to remember her daughter.
Receiving the chair on behalf of Elizabeth, Mr Idoga Francis, thanked the commission for their prompt response to the Pastoral Area’s request to provide her with a wheel chair. “We appreciated you so much and acknowledge your efforts of helping the poor and the down trodden in the Archdiocese.
Similarly, in a recent development, the commission also gave out three motorbikes to two churches to aid their pastoral work. These churches are St. Mulumba Parish Igu and St. Mary’s Pastoral Area Apo – Dutse.
