The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has commended the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) for their unwavering dedication to moral integrity and social justice. In a goodwill message delivered during the Opening Ceremony of the CBCN’s 2024 second plenary assembly at the Uyi Grand Event Center in Auchi on Sunday, August 25, 2024, CAN President, Archbishop Daniel C. Okoh recognized the bishops ongoing advocacy for good governance and the well-being of Nigerians.
Represented by the Director of Ecumenism and Interfaith Relations at CAN, Ven. Dr. Princewill Ireoba, Archbishop Okoh praised the Catholic bishops for their leadership and bravery in addressing national issues, describing their efforts a beacon of hope in challenging times.
Archbishop Okoh highlighted the importance of stronger collaboration between the Catholic Church and CAN, encouraging more bishops to participate in National Executive Committee meetings to bolster their shared mission. He wished the Conference a productive deliberation and urged continued dedication to Christian values and service.
