Day-two of the second 2022 plenary of Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), which is on-going in Orlu Diocese, commenced with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, which was followed by the Holy Mass. The Chief Celebrant, who was also the homilist, Most Rev. Charles Hammawa, enjoined the entire community of the faithful to be united in love, and witness to one another in love, as they celebrate the Eucharist. He explained that the “Eucharist is a community and spiritual exercise that is supposed to build the community in communion.”Later in the hall was a very lively and highly interactive session between the Bishops and representatives of Catholics in Owerri Province, made up of the dioceses of Orlu, Umuahia, Okigwe, Ahiara, Aba and Owerri Archdiocese. The fruits of the interaction will be made available in form of resolutions while some aspects will feature in the communique to be released at the end of the Conference. The second day culminated in a grand reception for the Bishops by the lay faithful of Orlu Diocese, featuring presentations by the HCA children, Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria (CYON), the Diocesan Episcopal choir, presentation of kolanuts to the Bishops by the Catholic Men Organisation (CMO), Orlu Diocese and cultural dance.
