Dearest friends, what arguments have your peers used to discourage you from making effort towards living a SEX-FREE life (i.e Life of Chastity)? Perhaps, the following:
*It is lack of opportunity?
* It is all about naivety?
* It is outdated?
* It denies you a lot of gains?
* You will suffer some diseases?
* You will end up in your parents’ house, without being married?
* Giving birth to your first baby will be HELL; you may even die in the process?, etc.
Well, I dare to tell you today that all those negative things you have been told about CHASTE VIRGINITY are indeed, BIG LIES FROM THE PIT OF HELL! Do you know why that your friend is telling you such things? Let me tell you…
Just two possible reasons:
1. If that your friend is of the opposite sex, then he simply wants to take ADVANTAGE OF YOU.
2. If the friend is of the same sex, then he/she simply wants you to fall into the same MESS he/she had mistakenly fallen into. The renowned Playwright, Christopher Marlowe, said something about such behaviour…
In his famous work, ‘DOCTOR FAUSTUS’, Christopher Marlowe made it clear thus: “It is always a comfort to the MISERABLE to find COMPANIONS in their misery.” Let me explain…
Have you ever failed a subject while in school? Indeed, more often than not, it is observable that once one fails a subject and discovers that he/she is not the only one that failed it, but that almost all the members of the class failed the same subject, there is a kind of COMFORT that he/she feels. Is it not true?
Have you seen why you must always say NO to whatever allurements to: Pre-marital/Extramarital sex, erotic relationships, immoral indulgences (Pornography, Masturbation, Sext, Vulgar language, Homosexual acts, etc)?
In case you do not know, there is a sense of JOY, FULFILMENT and AUTHORITY that you will surely have, if you uphold CHASTITY.
As you are reading through this post, I am just imagining you thinking that it is not possible to get married in such state. Hmmm! Better know it today that many persons still value and uphold the virtue of CHASTITY. Say NO to the erroneous belief that ‘everybody is doing it‘ and do not be DECEIVED!
👉🏼 To those who think that such lifestyle is no longer possible for them since they have already made countless mistakes, please, do not worry so much, my good friend. There is still a way out. Let me show you the way…
Have you heard about that notorious PROSTITUTE caught in adultery in the Bible? (Cf. Jn 8:3-11). Do you know that after encountering JESUS CHRIST, she became a SAINT? You also can become a saint after reading this post and then taking necessary DECISIONS. You can quit that SINFUL relationship today, by the grace of God🙏🏼
Finally, let us reflect on these words of Pope Pius XII on the canonization of St. Maria Goretti, a model of CHASTE VIRGINITY thus:
… Let those who are in the happy days of youth learn NOT to waste their energies on the transient empty pleasures of self-indulgence. Let them be on their guard against the temptation of sinful pleasures and the wretchedness of yielding to vice. Rather may they strive vigorously to form their character in the way of Christian living, hard and rough though the way may be. For this perfection can indeed be attained through personal determination, helped by the grace of God, prayer and perseverance… (cf. The Office of Readings, July 6).
