CSN, agencies of CBCN gear up for a transformative 2024 retreat

As the dawn of a new work year begins, staff of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN), Opus Securitatis, Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS), and other agencies of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), all over the country gear up for a powerful start with a two-day retreat set to begin today January 9 at the CSN premises in Abuja.

The retreat exercise will be moderated by Rev. Msgr. John Aniagwu from the Archdiocese of Lagos. With the theme: “Deus Caritas Est: Working together to Manifest God’s Love”, the exercise has created a sense of excitement among participants, who eagerly look forward to aligning their pursuits with this profound message of love and unity, in this synodal era in the Church’s life.

The retreat which will begin on the first day, January 9, with morning prayer and lauds. After which the first session will follow and other activities for the day. Other activities lined for the 2-day exercise include, witness series of talks and discussions, Eucharistic adoration, Holy Mass, Emmaus walk, Rosary, confession, amongst other activities.

 

Addressing the management and staff of the CSN and other agencies of the CBCN who arrived for the retreat, the Chairperson of the planning committee, Lady Amanda Amadi, expressed her optimism that the preparatory activities so far, have set the stage for a prospective meaningful and impactful retreat.

As the retreat sets to begin today January9, the environs of CSN promises a focused atmosphere that will promote reflection, growth, and a collective commitment to manifesting God’s love in their work and interactions. Stay tuned for updates on this spiritually enriching journey.
