Via Christi seminarians visit CSN Communications office

The National Director of Social Communications, Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Rev. Fr. Dr. Michael Nsikak Umoh and his team received two seminarians, Bro. Williams Emmanuel Oshla, VC and Abah Emmanuel Ojonugwo, VC of the Via Christi society on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Communications office of CSN.

The seminarians who are members of the Editorial team of “The Voice from the Cross” magazine 2024 annual publication of Via Christi seminarians, came for an exclusive interview session with the National Director in view of the edition of their publication on the theme “Social media: A gift for unity, peace and evangelization”.

In the interview, Fr. Umoh, a social media expert, gave an indepth exposition on the beauty, benefits and dangers of the social media both in the pastoral and secular life of the Church and Christians. He also advanced his discussion into the thoughts of the Church on the theme for the World Communications Day and the Communications Week initiative by the Catholic Bishops of Nigeria, and on the need for an aggressive media literacy campaign in our local churches.

The Via Christi Society is a society of Apostolic Life of Diocesan rite founded in 1977 by Very Revd. Fr. Angus George Fraser, CSSp of blessed memory.
