Today, clergymen, religious groups and lay faithfuls converged on the ancient soil of kaffinkoro to pray for the continuous repose of the soul of very Rev fr Isaac Achi who clocked 40days since his gruesome murder.
It will be recalled that very Rev fr Isaac Achi was on the 15th day of January killed and burnt to death by unknown gunmen alleged to be Bandits.
The memorial mass was led by the chief shepherd of the Catholic diocese of Minna, Bishop Martins Uzoukwu, flunged by his auxiliary, Bishop Sylvester Gopep and dozens of priests from different parishes who were present, defying all odds of insecurity to pay thier respect as they pray for his soul.
The homilist, Bishop Gopep described late fr. Achi as a hero and a martyr whose demise completely put the catholic diocese of Minna on the world map. He called on the church, family members and lay faithfuls to see the death of fr. Achi as a call for total submission and rededication to the things of God as exemplified by his footprints, adding that fr. Achi will continue to remain a warrior of the gospel even in death.
The most disheartening situation that beclouded the event today was the unfortunate attacks in some part of the villages surrounding kaffinkoro Like, Adunu, Beni, Nanati amongst many more. These attacks were carried out before and while the memorial mass was going on. This brought back sad memories of how in the first place very Rev. Fr. Isaac Achi was killed.
The church is using this opportunity to call on concerned authority to as a matter of urgency ensure security is provided in all affected areas in the state, so that villagers can go about thier legitimate businesses without fear of being attacked.
May the soul of very Rev fr Achi Isaac and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in perfect peace ✌️🕊️
