Amamgbo Emerges KSJI National President

Noble Bro Chuks Joachim Amamgbo has emerged as the Supreme Subordinate President (National President) of the Knights of St. John International (KSJI), Nigeria.

This followed the result of elections for both the Knights and Ladies in Enugu during the KSJI convention, held from November 27 to 30, 2025.

According to the erstwhile President, Noble Bro Remy Uche, “this convention was an opportunity for us to rededicate ourselves to the service of God and the Church, and also to elect new leaders that will pilot the affairs of our noble Order, for the next four years, in accordance with the CBCN directive of a single term of four years, non renewable.”

For the Knights, after the election, the following persons emerged: Noble Bro Chuks Amamgbo, as President; Noble Bro Bonna Ugwuja, 1st Vice President; Noble Bro Chijioke Ilechukwu, 2nd Vice President; Noble Bro Chuks Onua Secretary; Noble Bro Cletus Ntong, Treasurer; Noble Bro David Polycarp, 1st Trustee; and Noble Bro Peter Osamgbi, 2nd Trustee. The past president is an ex-offico member.

For the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John International, Nigeria, the following were elected as New Supreme Subordinate Auxiliary Officers: Noble Sr. Nonye Okafor as the President; Noble Sr. Christy Iwuoha, First Vice President; Noble Sr. Charity Ohadiugha, Second Vice President; Dame Tessy Atser, the Secretary; Noble Sr Winnie Onwuachu, Financial Secretay; Noble Sr. Elizabeth Omoigberale, Treasurer; Noble Sr. Patricia Okams, First Trustee; Noble Sr. Gladys Okoli, Second Trustee; Noble Sr. Gloria Ferife, Supreme Subordinate Deputy Organiser; Noble Sr. Florence Odok, Junior Directress. Noble Sr. Chinwe Mgbajiaka, Past President, is an ex officio.

Following his election, the Supreme Subordinate President assumed the rank of a Major General. In his acceptance speech, he said, “I grateful to God for his many graces, including the grace to lead over ten thousand Knights in Nigeria; and also thankful to brothers for finding me worthy, to lead us. I won’t take this for granted, as I pledge to serve with the humility of our Mother Mary, and the love of God. I pledge my loyalty to the Mother Church, and to the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, who we will support in anyway we can, in the task of evangelisation.

Amamgbo is an accomplished businessman, a staunch Catholic, who takes evangelisation seriously. He is an active parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, Akowonjo, Lagos. He is happily married to Noble Sr. Stella Amamgbo, whose parents were also, Knights of St. John International. The marriage is blessed with three lovely children.
