… announces scholarships for first 500 intakes of Shanahan University

Four fresh graduates of Veritas University, Abuja, who benefited from the scholarship scheme of the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, paid a thank-you visit to the Archbishop at the Archbishop’s Court, Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
The graduates, Emmanuel Nwafor, Chidiogo Ibekwe, Chioma Okelom, and Mmesoma Obidiegwu, were accompanied by the Onitsha Archdiocesan Education Secretary, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Paschal Onwugbenu.
While one of the graduates, Emmanuel Nwafor, bagged First Class Honors, others graduated with Second Class Upper Honors.
Archbishop Okeke in his response, expressed happiness that the students not only graduated with excellent grades but also remembered to thank their benefactor. He reiterated his commitment to providing qualitative education for youths to achieve excellence in their professional callings.
“The students have justified their scholarship by graduating with good grades,” Archbishop Okeke said. “I urge them to be good ambassadors wherever they find themselves in the future.”
Fr. Onwugbenu in his remark, lauded the Archbishop Okeke’s scholarship scheme, noting that it has enabled many indigent candidates to access education. “The Archbishop’s commitment to education is a testament to his dedication to humanity,” he added.
The Archbishop’s scholarship scheme has benefited numerous students locally and internationally, spanning through the primary, post-primary, and tertiary education. Recently, the Archbishop announced scholarships for the first 500 intakes to the newly established Shanahan University to cushion the rising cost of tuition fees.
Trinitas findings revealed that only one out of the four students is an indigene of Anambra State.
