The Episcopal Chairman of Social Communications and Bishop of Lafia Diocese, Most Rev. David Ajang has applauded the Social Communications Directorate of Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), for “the unprecedented work being done by the Directorate in propagating the Gospel and promoting the Church.”

The Bishop made the commendation while on a courtesy visit to the Director of Social Communications, Very Rev. Fr. Michael Nsikak Umoh and his team, on Friday, December 2, 2022.

Bishop Ajang noted that “today, news about the Catholic Church in Nigeria is everywhere and it is courtesy of the National Directorate, through whose leadership others are following.”

The Representative of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) on media matters, eulogised Fr. Umoh for providing the necessary leadership, which he described as unprecedented, noting that it is only recently, after a long break, that the media apostolate of the Church is witnessing such a transformation.

While thanking the staff of the Directorate for their wonderful attitude to work, he went on to encourage them to continue the good work, stressing that even when it seems their work is not being noticed or commended, they should never relent.

Responding, Fr. Umoh appreciated the Bishop for the visit and for the sterling guidance he has been providing, which has taken the national media office to such heights. He assured Bishop Ajang that following his guidance, the office will keep working to reposition the media apostolate of the Church for greater efficiency.
