Bishop Emmanuel Badejo Celebrates Pentecost 2024 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Ajoyin, Iseyin

By Fr. Martin Badejo

One of the newest outstations in the grassroots of Iseyin in the Catholic Diocese of Oyo had the opportunity to host the Chief Shepherd of the diocese, Most Rev. Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo, today Pentecost Sunday, 19 March, 2024.

The people of God in the faith community were full of life with songs of praise and joy on their lips as they danced to the joy of the coming of the Holy Spirit and also to welcome the Bishop to their community. In his words, “I have come to encourage you, as one of the most recent outstations in this diocese. The coming of the Holy Spirit gave courage to the apostles to witness to Christ. This is the kind of outreach we have done in this diocese in the entire period of Easter, reaching out to the small and new faith communities to encourage them. Each of you is called to be a witness to the resurrection and presence of the Lord in the world. “

After the Mass at Our Lady of Fatima, Ajoyin, Iseyin, the bishop paid a visit to the mother parish , St. Julius Catholic Church, Oke Idaho, Iseyin, where he also callled the people of God never to submit to despair, but to always be positive, like the disciples who took the Good News everywhere.

On hand to receive the BIshop was Fr. Martin Badejo, the Dean of Iseyin Deanery, Rev. Fr. Sylvester Odurinde, the Priest in Charge of St. Julius Catholic Church, Oke Idaho, Iseyin, with Mr. Timothy Mojoyinola, the Parish Pastoral Council Chairman.
