Bishop Nwobi sets up food bank with 1000 mini bags of rice to mark first episcopal ordination anniversary

The Catholic Bishop of Ahiara Diocese, Most Rev. Dr Simeon Okezuo Nwobi, CMF, embarked on feeding the poor this Christmas as a major part of his first episcopal ordination anniversary, having being ordained a bishop on 19 December 2023. Following our Lord’s injunction, “Give them something to eat,” the humble Shepherd went on to celebrate his first anniversary with the humble and indigent of his flock, drawn from all 89 parishes in Ahiara Diocese. This food apostolate saw Bishop Nwobi distribute 10 mini bags of rice to 10 recipients from each parish in the diocese, as well as to the lay diocesan workers.

The Bishop thanked the people of God for their support to him, especially those who made this food apostolate a reality, and he invoked divine blessings upon them.

Congratulations to our Bishop as we continue to wish him more grace in shepherding God’s flock entrusted to him.
