March 8 is commemorated annually as International Women’s Day (IWD). This year, Caritas Nigeria joins the globe to mark IWD 2023 under the theme, *DigitALL: Innovation and Technology in Gender Equity*, with interesting activities such as a commemorative Mass, sensitization sessions, and economic empowerment for vulnerable households.
This year’s celebration is a wake-up call to humanity to “Embrace Equity” as a step towards ensuring a more inclusive world for women. More so, it is an advocacy to governments and private and public sectors to support the professional growth of women by ensuring that they have the requisite tools and digital skills to thrive in their careers.
In addition to championing equal rights and opportunities for women and girls, International Women’s Day also seeks to appreciate women for their diverse and unique roles in society.
