Catholic Bishop Of Yola Ordains 4 Young Deacons

The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Most Reverend Stephen Dami Mamza has ordained four young deacons.

This happened during a two-day 2022 diocesan youth Summit in Yola.

The youths came from across all parishes of the Yola diocese who converged at Saint Peter’s Minor Seminary, Yola.

In his homily, Bishop Mamza who doubles as the State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, acknowledged the contribution of the youths to the growth and development of the church.

He said the era of being a parasite on the Church is long gone, and it is time for every youth to explore his God-given potential in contributing to the development of their parishes.

Explaining the role of the ordained young deacons, Bishop Mamza reveals that their services are well spelled in line with the scriptures and the church doctrine, stressing that they should live an exemplary life till their possible ordination as priests in the future.

Speaking on what his diocese intends to achieve by the youth summit in this political era, Bishop Mamza said it is pertinent for the youths to be equipped with knowledge on all issues about their lives, including elections, consumption of illicit drugs, and more.

He added that 2023 elections are here and the church saw the need to invite INEC officials to equally talk to the over 2000 youths about the new electoral act and the reformation expected during the forthcoming elections.
