Catholic Knights in Nigeria under the aegis of Joint All Catholic Knights Summit (JACKS), holds her inaugural national summit with the theme: “Collaboration in support and defense of the Catholic faith in Nigeria” at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Abuja.

At the opening Mass on Friday, January 26, at the St. Gabriel Chaplaincy in CSN, the Episcopal Chairman on Laity, Most Rev. John Ayah in his homily, reminded the knights that they have a lot of work to do in the church, because in the absence of the priests, other lay faithful look up to the knights of the church for direction.

Describing the Knighthood as a divine vocation of the priesthood of the people of God, the homilist who is also the Local Ordinary of Uyo Diocese, added that as knights of the church, they have a great responsibility of preaching the gospel of Christ both in words and in deeds.
Bishop Ayah appealed to knights not to allow money and power to cause distraction among them, but to always settle conflicts and crisis among them in the spirit of love and maturity.

The JACKS inaugural summit which is organized by the Department of Pastoral Agents of the CSN, had in attendance Knights of St. John International (KSJI), Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM), Knights of St. Columbus (KSC) and the Papal Knights in Nigeria. It started with the arrival of participants on Thursday, January 25, and will end on Saturday, January 27th, 2024, with the closing Mass and departure.
