CBCN ELECTS NEW EPISCOPAL CHAIRMAN FOR SOCIAL COMMUNICATIONS

I am pleased to officially announce and inform all Catholic media bodies and all Catholics involved in the communication industry that the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) has elected Most Rev. Gerald Mamman Musa, the Bishop of Katsina Diocese, as the new Episcopal Chairman for Social Communications. This was at the just concluded CBCN plenary meeting held at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) in Abuja.

On behalf of all Catholic communication bodies in Nigeria, we congratulate Bishop Musa on his election and wish him a successful tenure in his new role.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to Most Rev. David Ajang, the Bishop of Lafia, for his outstanding leadership and dedication to the communication apostolate over the past four years. His efforts have significantly contributed to the repositioning and development of Catholic communications in Nigeria in line with the CBCN vision for communication.

We pray that Bishop Musa will continue to guide and inspire Catholic communicators in Nigeria, as we all look forward to working with him in his new capacity.

Signed:
Fr. Michael Nsikak Umoh
