Cheery News on Christmas morning: Release of Fr. Mark Ojotu

Fr. Mark Ojotu of Otukpo Diocese has been released unharmed.
A circular signed by the Diocesan Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Itodo, which was made available to the Directorate of Social Communications, Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, indicates that Fr. Ojotu was released at about 5:25pm on Saturday, December 24, 2022, two days after his abduction along Okpoga-Ojapo Road, Okpokwu LGA of Benue State.
The Bishop, Priests, Religious and Lay faithful of the Diocese express appreciation to God and to all people of goodwill who showed solidarity and offered prayers for the speedy and safe return of Fr. Ojotu, while also praying for the safe rescue of other numerous people held captive by criminal gangs and for restoration of sanity to Nigeria.
