CSN Community Celebrates Fr. Nomhwange at 50

The Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) community came together on Monday, July 1, 2024, to celebrate a significant milestone in the life of Rev. Fr. Joseph Tile Nomhwange, SMA, Director of the Department of Mission and Dialogue, as he marked his 50th birthday. The occasion was met with gratitude, joy, and thanksgiving.

The celebration began with a Thanksgiving Mass at the St. Gabriel Chaplaincy in CSN, was attended by priests, religious, lay staff, friends, family, and well-wishers. Fr. Nomhwange expressed his appreciation for life, sustenance, and good health, emphasizing that the quality of life is more important than its quantity. He encouraged the gathering not to envy others, as each person has someone above and below them in life’s journey.

At the lunch reception, Rev. Fr. Zachariah Nyantiso Samjumi, Secretary General of CSN, praised Fr. Nomhwange’s dedication to the Catholic Secretariat and the CBCN, particularly in mission and dialogue. Fr. Nomhwange, visibly moved, expressed his gratitude to the CSN community, family, and friends for their support and prayers. He reiterated his appreciation to God and prayed for a long and productive life for all present.

Fr. Nomhwange, a missionary priest with the Society of African Missions (SMA), hails from Vandikya in Benue State, has served in various countries, including Togo, the Philippines, and the Benin Republic. As he embarks on this new chapter, the CSN community and beyond wish him many more years of good health, happiness, and continued serviceย toย theย Lord.
