The Executive Committee of the CSN Laystaff Association paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Secretary General and Director, Pastoral Agents Department, Rev. Fr. Augustine Okochi, at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN).
The visit, which took place on Thursday 27 March, 2025, was aimed at welcoming and congratulating the newly appointed Deputy Secretary General who is an Advisor to the association, as well as strengthen collaboration and discussing key welfare concerns affecting lay staff members.
The delegation was led by Sir Dr. Godwin Ukel, the Chairman of the association, the delegation expressed appreciation for the support the Secretariat has extended to lay staff over the years. They also presented issues regarding staff welfare, career development, and workplace improvements, seeking the Secretariatโs continued commitment to their well-being.
In his response, Rev. Fr. Okochi welcomed the executives and commended their dedication to fostering unity and productivity among lay staff. He reiterated the Secretariatโs commitment to addressing their concerns and encouraged continuous dialogue to ensure a harmonious working environment.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties agreeing to maintain a cordial relationship and open communication between the Laystaff Association and the CSN Management and also explore ways to enhance staff engagement and motivation.
