The Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) is hosting its 4th triennial Education Summit from October 22-25, 2024. With the theme: “Global Compact on Education in the Nigerian Context,” the event aims to foster meaningful discussions among stakeholders in the field of education.
The summit will kick off on October 23, with an Opening Mass where His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan will be the Chief Celebrant. Expected at the event are Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman and Prof. Jean Paul Niyigena from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. The later will give the Keynote Address.
Also expected in attendance are Directors of Education from all dioceses in Nigeria, Catholic school students across the country, priests, religious leaders, experts, and stakeholders in Nigeria’s education sector.
Some of the topics for presentations and discussions at the summit will include: “Education Justice and Artificial Intelligence in a Digitally Divided World,” “The Place of Vulnerable in an Inclusive Catholic Education System,” “Innovative funding model and strategic partnership for Catholic schools in Nigeria,” “The Role of Curriculum Formulation in Mainstreaming Indigenous Languages in Nigerian Basic Education,” amongst others.
The Education Summit is an effort by the Catholic Bishops of Nigeria to galvanize effective collaboration towards ensuring academic excellence and inclusivity.
