Elimination of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Nigeria: Lux Terra kicks off a series of Training Workshops for Christian Stakeholders.

The Lux Terra Leadership Foundation on Tuesday November 15, 2022, began the first in a series of training workshops for Christian Stakeholders on skills and tools for raising public awareness on the evil of all forms of sexual and gender-based violence, drawing up a variety of intervention strategies and mechanisms to achieve the much required attitudinal, behaviour and culture change, as well as workable individual and group action plans for policy advocacy towards the elimination of the menace in the Nigerian society.

Participants at the workshop are clerics and lay leaders of Christian churches and institutions drawn from across the country.

Present at the opening ceremony were Most Rev Anselm Umoren, Auxiliary Bishop of Abuja, representatives of Dame Pauline Tallen, the Minister of Women Affairs, other distinguished invitees and members of the media.

The programme involves the training and equipping of 360 “Advocates for the Elimination of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Nigeria,” over the next three years.
