Fr. Ogide of Umuahia Diocese kidnapped
The Catholic Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Most Rev. Michael Kalu Ukpong has called on the faithful of the Diocese to be prayerful and remain calm following the kidnap of one of the Priests of the Diocese, Rev. Fr. Christopher Ogide.
In a statement released by the Diocesan Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Henry Maduka, the sad event occurred on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the entrance gate of the Parish house while Fr. Ogide was driving out to buy fuel.
Fr. Ogide is an Associate Pastor at Maria Assumpta Parish, Umuopara. The entire Catholic faithful are enjoined to pray for his quick release and safe return.
