Fr. Sylvester Okechukwu of Kafanchan Diocese kidnapped
On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, suspected gunmen kidnapped a Priest of Kafanchan Diocese, Rev. Fr. Sylvester Okechukwu, an Associate Pastor of St. Anthony’s Parish, Fadan Kono.
The Chancellor of the Diocese, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Uchechukwu Okolo, in a statement, revealed that the sad and ugly event took place at the Parish rectory in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, at about 11:45pm on Tuesday.
While calling for prayers for the quick and safe release of Fr. Okechukwu, the Chancellor also enjoined the faithful of the Diocese to refrain from taking laws into their hands, and prayed for the unconditional release of the Priest.
