The Catholic Diocese of Ilorin was on New Year day thrown into mourning mood, following the passing on to eternity of their Chief Shepherd, Most Rev. Dr. Paul Adegboyega Olawoore.
The news of the death of Bishop Olawoore as made available to the National Director of Social Communications, Very Rev. Fr. Michael Nsikak Umoh, indicated that the Bishop had passed on after a brief illness in the early hours of New Year day.
Bishop Olawoore, who was also the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter, was born on November 30, 1961 and died at the age of 60. He was ordained Bishop on July 13, 2018 and elevated to the position of local ordinary for Ilorin on June 11, 2019 as Bishop Ayo-Maria Atoyebi’s successor.
In the meantime, the National Director of Social Communications, Very Rev. Fr. Umoh has commiserated with the Priests, Religious and entire Lay faithful of Ilorin Diocese over the sudden loss of Bishop Olawoore. He enjoins all to pray for the peaceful repose of the soul of Bishop Paul Olawoore.
