The Bishop of Warri diocese, Most Rev. Anthony Ewherido, has charged Christians to make Christ their solid foundation and cornerstone in all aspects of life.

Preaching during the morning Mass at the Retreat and Youth Development Centre, Nto Ekpu Ikot Nko, Obot Akara, on September 13, 2025, Bishop Ewherido emphasised the urgent need for the faithful to root their lives in Christ amid the challenges of the modern world.

He reminded Christians that Christ remains the unshakable foundation upon which their faith must rest, adding that any life built on worldly pursuits without Christ at the center risks collapse when trials arise.
Furthermore, the shepherd said, “The world may offer temporary comfort, but only Christ provides lasting security and peace,” urging the faithful to live out their Christian vocation with courage, perseverance, and faith.
The Mass, which formed part of ongoing activities of the 2025 2nd CBCN Plenary, had Most Rev. Michael Apochi, Bishop of Otukpo diocese, as the chief celebrant.

It was the memorial of St John Chrystostom and the birthday of Bishop of Awka diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor. He was especially prayed for at the Mass.
