All is now set for the first Pastoral visit of the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, Archbishop Michael Francis Crotty, to Port Harcourt Diocese, Rivers State.
The Pastoral visit is slated for April 8 to 10, 2025. The Nuncio will be hosted in a reception at Corpus Et Sanguis Christi Cathedral, D/Line, Port Harcourt, after a Holy Mass at the same venue by 10:00am.
On his arrival to Port Harcourt, on Tuesday, April 8, the papal representative, will have a brief stopover at St Anthony Iguruta, from where, he shall visit the pastoral centre and proceed onward to the bishop’s house.
Archbishop Crotty shall on Wednesday, April 9, precide over a concelebrate Holy Mass with the Diocesan Bishop, Most Rev. Camillius Etokudoh, his Auxiliary, Most Rev. Patrick Eluke and Priests of the Diocese.
It would be recalled that the present Apostolic Nuncio was appointed late last year to Nigeria and on arrival to Nigeria, he was received by the President of the Catholic Bishopsโ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), Most Rev. Lucius Ugorji at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Abuja.
He had visited Lagos Province, Onitsha Province, and was a guest of the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, in government house, Awka, where the governor commended the sacrifices of Irish priests and missionaries who brought the gospel to Nigeria and acknowledged their profound and lasting impact.
In a release made available to the Catholic Link, the Diocese enjoins the Christโs faithful in Port Harcourt Diocese to turn out en mass to welcome the Nuncio.
