*UNVEILING OF THE NEW LOGO OF ST AUGUSTINE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION*
St. Augustine College of Education was established in 1971 to meet the educational needs, morals and values of young people in Nigeria and the world at large. The College came into being during the Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria under the chairmanship of Anthony Cardinal Olubunmi Okojie, the then Archbishop of Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos. It became a joint project of the Nigeria Conference ofย Catholic Bishops and Christian Council of Nigeria for the sole aim of training teachers in Moral and Religious Education. It was then popularly known as Teacherโs Institute of Moral Education (PROJECT T.I.M.E).
Presently, the College has grown for over a period of 50 years to offer other programmes such as Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) and B.Sc/ B.Ed Programmes in affiliation to University of Ibadan.ย The College also offers Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PDE), Diploma in Catechesis and Professional Diploma Certificate in Computer Science.
As a way of further transforming, advertising and growing the College, the Management thought it wise to rebrand it. One of the steps towards achieving this goal is the redesigning of the College Logo to reflect the current status of the College and what it stands for.
It is on this note that I bring you good tidings from the Provost, Management, Staff and Students of our great citadel of learning as the Proprietor, His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins has graciously approved the redesigning of the logo as well as a grand event to formally launch it to the public. This event has been scheduled as follows:
