Rev. Fr. David Okolie

Dearest friends, with the Easter Season over and the Paschal Candle removed from the Sanctuary at the end of the Pentecost Liturgical Celebration, kindly take note of the following:

1) We have entered the โ€˜2nd Part of the Ordinary Time of the Year’ and the predominant liturgical colour is GREEN (Except on Memorials, Feasts and Solemnities).

2) The *VOLUME III* of the Three Volume Breviary is used (Psalter Week 3).

  • 3) The reading at Mass commences from WEEK 7ย of the Year.

4) Sunday readings are from YEAR B.

5) Weekday readings from CYCLE II.

6) The praying of the ANGELUS is resumed. The traditional times for it remain 6am., 12 noon and 6pm DAILY.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ N.B:
The readings and prayers for the Memorial on Monday after Pentecost (i.e Memorial of Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church) are PROPER. You can search out for the text on the internet. You can also find it on 2024 Liturgical Calendar (Ordo) p. 169ff.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸผThe MAY DEVOTION is still ongoin until the end of the month of May. Do well to keep participating in it. Indeed, the spiritual benefits are quite enormous.

Remain blessed๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ
