Youths and Chaplains from across all the Catholic Dioceses of Nigeria gathered at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Abuja and Lagos on the 9th and 13th of December respectively, to begin the formal process of enlisting to attend the World Youth Day (WYD), Lisbon 2023.
In a statement reeased by the CBCN Secretary for Youth Animation, Rev. Fr. Boniface Idoko, over 150 Youths and Chaplains have indicated interest to participate in the event which comes up in Lisbon, Portugal in August 2023.
Fr. Idoko noted that the screening was conducted to ensure that those who would attend have the right intentions. He concluded that the exercise was successfully carried out and the youths are in high spirit waiting for the next stage.
The World Youth Day is the largest gathering of youths all over the world with the Pope and it comes up every 4 years.
