A NEW WEDDING DISCOVERY

Dearest friends, just recently a friend of mine called my attention to what he described as *‘irrational’* in a Wedding Mass both of us attended. What was that? It was an effort of the videographer/photographer to save memory for the other parts of the ceremony thereby failing to cover the full homily (i.e preaching/sermon) of the priest which contained some words of admonitions for the new couple. The videographer turned his gadgets on and off intermittently during the homily, perhaps, just to get few words of the priest to fill the gap meant for that.

As if this first experience was not enough for me to consider it as a problem that needs concern, few days ago, I attended a wedding Mass in which I observed the same wrong. Oh, what a rich homily and admonitions the priest delivered, especially to the new couple. Unfortunately, the camera man sacrificed these on the altar of ‘saving memory’. At this, I decided to call the attention of prospective couples to it.

Therefore, I urge prospective couples to properly negotiate with the videographer to cover in full the homily/preaching of the minister during the wedding Mass or service (for Non-Catholics). Such words delivered by the Priest/Minister under the guidance of the Holy Spirit must be always revisited for a better understanding and ordering of the marriage/family life. Just give it a trial and you will marvel at its abundant fruits.

Guess what…?

I did not allow myself to fall into such a mistake during my Diaconate and Priestly Ordinations o🙂. I negotiated with the man that was to do the coverage and till today, I still have the full homilies of the Bishop those days. Indeed, very powerful homilies🥰

👉🏼NOTE: The above also is the case in many other ceremonies, like: Ordinations, Anniversaries, Funerals, etc. I have simply chosen Wedding as an example.

Remain blessed🙏🏼
