Bishop calls out to leaders as herdsmen continue to attack

Bishop Wilfred Anagbe of Makurdi Diocese has called out to the political class especially those seeking elective offices to demonstrate their willingness to stand for the people now before they even get elected.ย  The Bishop who was reacting to the continued attacks on villages in Gwer-West and Guma LGAs of Benue state by terrorists herdsmen, reiterated his position on the herdsmen crisis, calling it a jihad that has demolished villages and churches and killed thousands. The time to show what you can do for the people is now, and added that, any candidate who does not define clearly his position on this matter, will not get our approval, the bishop said. Bishop Wilfred who was at the Mass celebrating the Agasha Deanery Cathedraticum held at St Michael’s Church Agasha expressed his profound appreciation to the people for their generous support to the Church and urged them to pray for God fearing leaders who will take the state to the Promised Land. The practice of Cathedraticum,ย  an ancient one, is a celebration of the people’s support for their Bishop and a demonstration of oneness with him. It held on March 30, 2022
