Cardinal Onaiyekan celebrates 40th anniversary of Episcopal Ordination Thursday afternoon, January 6th 1983, Pope John Paul II ordained one of the foremost Ecclesiastics of the Church in Nigeria,  the Emeritus Archbishop of Abuja, then Monsignor John Onaiyekan, a Bishop at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Today is the 40th anniversary of the Cardinal’s episcopal ordination.
