The Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) regrets to announce the passing of Madam Roseline Akon Umoh, mother of Very Rev. Fr. Michael Nsikak Umoh, National Director of Social Communications.
Madam Umoh, a devoted educator and entrepreneur, served as a teacher at St. Mary’s Convent School in Lagos before retiring and managing her business. She was renowned for her kindness, generosity, and community development efforts.
Predeceased by her husband, Ette Linus Uquo Umoh, Madam Umoh leaves behind children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and in-laws. Her legacy of love and selflessness will be deeply cherished.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Bishop of Ikot Ekpene Diocese, Most Rev. Camillus Umoh at St. Anne’s Cathedral, Ikot Ekpene, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Interment will follow at the Ette Linus Umoh’s family compound in Nkap, Ikot Ekpene.
Rev. Fr. Michael Umoh, the media manager of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, described his mother’s passing as a “painful and irreparable loss” to the family, and the Ikot Ekpene and Essien Udim communities. He finds solace in the hope and consolation of Christ’s Resurrection.
