CBCN SET TO HOST 2022 RECOWA GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Preparations are in top gear as the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) sets to host the General Assembly of the Regional Episcopal Conference of West Africa (RECOWA) from Monday, May 2 to Monday, May 9, 2022.
The RECOWA General Assembly is a meeting of all Bishops from Dioceses of the West African region, to discuss key issues plaguing the region, with a view to proffer possible solutions.

In an exclusive interview with CSN Media, the Secretary General of Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN),
Very Rev. Fr. Zacharia Nyantiso Samjumi, disclosed that the General Assembly is held every three years and it is hosted by a selected Episcopal Conference. He said that over 100 Bishops across West Africa are expected in Nigeria for the programme.

Fr. Samjumi therefore calls on the lay faithful to join hands to ensure that the 2022 RECOWA General Assembly
is successful. “The laity should help in the preparation, planning and proper execution for the success of
the programme”,  he appeals.
