Rev. Fr. David Okolie
Dearest friends, inasmuch as our Faith is rational, it is not totally reduced to rationalism. Where REASON stops, FAITH carries us through. According to Søren Kierkegaard, “Faith is a leap into the dark.” Even in such a leap, we are so hopeful and “our hope will never fail us”, according to Benedict XVI in his encyclical: ‘Spe Salvi‘.
Well, we are in the domain of FAITH and DOGMA now. What is required of us is ‘Catholic Assent.‘ So, if you are still finding it difficult to believe that the Blessed Virgin Mary was conceived without ORIGINAL SIN (i.e Immaculate Conception), then keep praying that God may make it clearer to you. I have gotten my own confirmation of the above truth on December 8, 2020, which I shared then and I will still share in the evening of December 8, this year or any soon. Please, kindly expect the post.
Now, beloved friends, concerning REVEALED TRUTHS, the Catechism teaches this:
What moves us to believe is not the fact that REVEALED TRUTHS appear as true and intelligible in the light of our natural reason: we believe “because of the authority of God himself who reveals them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived (cf. CCC n. 156).
Therefore, any effort to deliberately REJECT this REVEALED TRUTH which was pronounced infallibly by the Vicar of Christ here on earth and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit is a ‘SIN against FAITH’ according to the teaching of the Church (cf. CCC nn. 2088-2089).
Remember also that, actually, We celebrate the Blessed Virgin Mary, not as a SUPER BEING but as a HUMBLE CREATURE in whom the GRACE of God triumphed exceedingly.
May the Holy Spirit help us to grasp and value this truth of our faith. Amen🙏🏼
Happy Solemnity🙏🏼
