Catholic schools represent 31 per cent of all the schools here in Kenya.
But has it ever occurred to you why most parents usually make sacrifices in some way to be able to enroll their children to Catholic schools?
Well, most Catholic schools embrace educational programmes that are intentionally directed to the holistic growth of the whole person (Spiritually, Academically and Morally)
Other than that, following are common reasons why parents prefer a Catholic school for their children.
1) Exposure to the Catholic faith.
Parents who are Catholics would want their children to develop a strong religious foundation.
With the daily exposure to the Catholic doctrines, daily prayers and church attendance, they believe that their children will retain a Catholic identify even when they grow old.
2) Most children turn to be disciplined
Catholic institutions like to instill ethical behaviors in children when they are at a younger age. Students who enroll in Catholic institutions are usually challenged to be Christ-like in word and action and that influences their behaviors positively.
On top of that, Christian Religious Education is usually taught as a compulsory subject in almost all Catholic schools.
3) Academic excellence.
Apart from spiritual excellence Catholic schools usually make it into the list of top performers in national examinations.
With a strong culture of hard work, discipline and resilience most of them usually post exemplary results.
